The name Montana Amputees in Action was chosen to describe the group's overall purpose, which is to engage amputees in social relationships and meaningful activities.
Let's define the word "action."

This group emphasizes the power of "doing" through actions with peers. It isn't just about support through conversation; it's about participation in enjoyable activities to promote health and well-being with peers who face similar challenges.
I developed this program for a capstone project for occupational therapy school. With a huge appreciation for peer support and the value of participation in meaningful activities, I wanted to increase support resources for a population I am a part of, amputees!
I became an amputee at 21 years old and personally experienced the benefits of having peer support during that time. I am passionate about helping others find their way through difficult times and this led to the development of Montana Amputees in Action!
